Major Foundations
GPN provides opportunities for major foundations to take leading roles in expansions by serving as an anchor or co-funder in rounds of expansion funding for their oustanding grantees. GPN then attracts other funders to join the lead foundation to complete rounds of expansion funding for grantees through a syndication process. Attracting co-funders locally and nationally allows major foundations to:
- Leverage collaborative capital from other sources to fund grantees
- Create sustained local support for grantee expansion sites
- Reduce their own financial exposure
- Implement effective exit strategies
